Get the Look: Selena Gomez's Hit the Lights

Selena Gomez's new music video, Hit the Lights was one of my favorite music videos she has ever done. I love the relaxed vibe of the video and all of the different looks in the video are very pretty.  This look is one of my favorites. It is wearable but still a fun and daring look with the bright lips. Hear is how to get the look!

1. Set your your canvas! Put on your favorite foundation and setting powder, and conceal and blemishes. This will provide a base for the rest of your makeup.

2. Give some life to your face! Put on a matte bronzer. Use a bronzer that is not that much darker than your skin. Just one to give your skin a little color and glow. The key to making bronzer look natural is apply it to where the sun naturally would hit your face. To do this suck in the make a fishy face and apply the bronzer under your cheek bones, the temples of your cheeks and up your forehead, making an E and a 3 on your face.
The bronzer I recommend the color wheel mosaic face powder in all over bronze glow. It is very affordable and it provides a glow to your skin.

2. Give yourself a glow! Apply a light peach pink colored blush. I recommend the NYX powdered blush in the shade Pinched. You can find this blush in stores or online at www.ulta.com

3. Selena Gomez's eyes in this part of the music video are really natural! Prime your eyes with an eye primer. Then apply a shimery topey brown color to the lid, like the color in the bottom right of this pallete, which can be purchased at any Target or online at http://www.target.com/p/ELF-Eyeshadow-Palette/-/A-13716591#?lnk=sc_qi_detailimage
ELF is one of my favorite makeup companies because it is very good quality and it is extremely affordable.

Apply Mac's Brun to your crease, and the lightest color in the ELF palette to your brow bone and tear duct area.

4. Time for mascara and eyeliner!
Apply your favorite black liquid eyeliner on the upper lashline, and a black pencil eyeliner on your water line.

5. Selena's bright pink lips are the focal point of her look. I recommend Revlon's ColorBurst Lip Butter in Rasberry Pie. These lip butters are moisturizing and perfect for if you want color, but not something that is as intense as a lipstick.

Now you are ready to go Hit The Lights!

New Blog Series: Boys

Boys...
They make us crazy, annoy us, make us cry, laugh and everything in between. So what is it with our fascination with these creatures from another planet? This new blog series will be talking about everything that has to do with the opposite sex. From awkward situations to totally sweet ones I am going to cover everything in between.

One thing that I have noticed growing up is that being pretty really does not matter when it comes to boys. I mean yes they do like attractive girls, but really when a guy wants is someone who is confident. I know that you have probably heard this about a million times, but until you start really being confident, you can look like Angelina Jolie and boys are not even going to look at you if you don't truly love yourself. I wish I would have found my confidence earlier in life. It always baffled me why girls who were not even that pretty were adored by guys. But it was only until I started being confident that I found the answer.

Stop being so afraid of everything. Be fearless and take chances. Stop looking down at the ground and
think about falling. Don't think about the consequences. Just go for because chances are it is going to be better than sitting on the sidelines. Once you stop being afraid of everything, everything just comes more naturally. You will stop caring about what people think and wear what you want, act how you want, and be yourself. In order to learn how to fly you can't be afraid to leave the ground. Being confident in yourself will make you seem more attractive because ultimately it's what's on the inside that counts.

Fall Fashion: Wake Up You Look!

1. Swap your Uggs for a riding boot.
Yes I know your Uggs are all furry and are like bringing your nice cozy bed with you on your feet but wearing a leather boot will definitely up the style factor. It will bring your outfit to the next level.
Right now I have a pair from Forever 21. They are very reasonable and can add a lot to a collection. If you have the money saved up I suggest investing in a pair from a higher end department store because these will last you for forever.

$34.95 for Forever 21

$29.99 from Target

Steve Madden Boots $148.95

2. Open up your eyes and put a champagne or light colored eyeshadow in your inner tear duct.
Prime your eyes with any eye shadow primer
Using a dome shaped brush take any light colored eyeshadow and dust it on your inner tear duct area.
For my everyday makeup routine I just use eyeliner and a highlighter on the inner tear duct and some mascara. It really makes your look a lot more put together.

3. Wear a scarf!
Scarves can totally transform a look! They can make a plain tee shirt and jeans look so much more put together. There are many different ways to style scarves. In the fall and winter I love to bundle them up. Living in a colder climate they keep you nice and warm!

Apply For COLLEGE!!!

I just sent in my applications for some schools and am soo nervous. But I am glad the stress is over.
Here are some tips if you are interested:
1. DON'T PROCRASTINATE:
I know this is much easier than said, and watching Mean Girls is much more interesting than writing some essay for some admissions person, but believe me it will make your life a lot easier.
2. Take the standardized testing early on either the ACT or the SAT You do not want to be worrying about that when you are writing essays and stuff.
3. Get as much done as early as possible.
4. DONT PROCRASTINATE!!
5. DON'T PROCRASTINATE!!
6. Have a teacher or counselor review all your essays. Even Santa Clause check his list twice.

I think the you get the idea. Don't procrastinate. Happy college searching :)
